At AFL we don’t just rehabilitate injuries – we restore individuals.
A catastrophic injury can happen to anyone, and when it does the road to recovery is never a straight line. Physical therapy and rehabilitation are important, but for many disabled individuals these programs don't allow them to realize their full potential. That’s where Adaptive Fitness can be a game-changer. Personalized adaptive fitness programs are safe, innovative, and above all proven to be effective for patients of all kinds. Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to experience the benefits of adaptive fitness. That's where the Adaptive Fitness Legion comes in.
Adaptive fitness is about more than just effective exercise, it’s about providing an environment that empowers individuals to set their own fitness goals, push the boundaries of their perceived limitations, and discover new physical abilities.
AFL works with world-class adaptive fitness specialists who develop physical fitness programs for people with special needs. They are certified personal trainers who know how to activate muscles and nerves to help address physical challenges.
Through our partnership with DPI Adaptive Fitness and the awards we offer, individuals with varying physical abilities have the opportunity to participate in physical fitness activities tailored to their needs. Individuals with physical disabilities have as much need (if not more) for physical activity to promote healthy living as able-bodied individuals.
The AFL offers 1:1 Training Awards, free virtual and in-person fitness classes, and free open gym sessions for people of all abilities
